United States: BowFlex recalled more than 3.8 million dumbbells because people could be injured by falling weights.

The recall is being made after more than 100 reports of injuries, consisting of concussions, broken toes, and bruises and scrapes, were filed with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

They are well-known since switching to new weights is easy, even if you don’t have an entire stock of dumbbells. Even so, the CPSC warns that the changing seat position might create a safety issue.

Nearly 3.7 million sets are being recalled by Nautilus Inc., which now trades as BowFlex after a name change, CBS News indicated. BowFlex filed for bankruptcy in March 2024.

According to Johnson Health Tech Trading, “A proactive and broad initiation of this voluntary recall is consistent with our fundamental mission to serve consumers with high-quality and durable fitness equipment,” US News reported.

The recalled dumbbells belonging to Johnson are now handled by Johnson Health Tech Retail.

Those who purchased the dumbbells from Johnson Health Tech Trading could get a refund or an exchange.

If you got your equipment from BowFlex or Nautilus, you can receive a partially-funded voucher from Tech Solutions Group.

All purchasers can get a digital fitness membership for a year, free of charge. The company reported it is making sure that all affected persons are reached.
